Read this section before you read the tools. It will save you from buying a feature that can get your Google profile penalized.
Several platforms in this category offer review gating: you survey customers first, then send the happy ones to Google and route the unhappy ones into a private feedback form. It is sold as smart filtering. It breaches Google’s policies and runs against FTC guidance on review solicitation, and the FTC’s rule on fake and deceptive reviews put real penalties behind that.
One provider in our wider research does exactly this, routing three stars and below into a private channel while directing four and five star customers to post publicly. If a tool offers to send only your best customers to Google, that is the feature. Turn it off.
Our main guide covers what to do about reviews you want gone. This is the eleven tools for getting more of the ones you want, without the ones that will get you in trouble.
Ask everyone, immediately, by text
The whole job in one line. The tools differ on execution, not on strategy.
Ask everyone, because gating is prohibited and because a profile of unbroken fives reads as managed to anyone who has ever bought anything.
Immediately, because a request sent the day of service converts several times better than one sent a week later, when the customer has stopped thinking about you.
By text, because people read texts and do not read review request emails.
One location, tight budget
ReviewGrower starts near 5 dollars a month with a free plan, monitoring 80 plus sites. Launched January 2022, publishes no verified address, and caps invites on lower tiers. Cheap enough to test, young enough to treat as an experiment.
RightResponse AI is around 8 dollars per location per month on annual billing with no contract. Built on AI for drafting replies at volume, founded 2023. Credit charges stack on the base fee, so the real monthly number rises with your review volume.
NiceJob is 75 dollars a month and the best fit if you are a trade. Requests fire on job completion rather than a schedule, which is the timing that matters. Acquired by Paystone in 2021.
ReputationStacker is 79 dollars a month, published, with users reporting setup done in about ten minutes and roughly 4.9 across about 30 Capterra reviews. Text allowances cap by plan, overage at 10 dollars per 100 credits.
GatherUp publishes 99 dollars a month for one location with a 14 day trial, monthly billing, no contract and no termination fee. The cleanest exit terms here. Reviewers describe add-ons as confusing and note costs have risen.
You want texting done properly
Podium built the category around SMS collection in 2014 and has raised 439 million dollars at a 3 billion valuation. At 399 dollars a month it is the most expensive here and only justifiable if texting is genuinely your bottleneck. Needs good customer phone numbers to work at all.
Broadly starts around 200 dollars a month, pairing requests with a unified inbox across Google, Facebook, Instagram and web chat. Acquired by Vendasta in 2023. No published pricing, demo only.
Several locations
Birdeye runs generation alongside listings, social and messaging across 150,000 plus businesses, from around 300 dollars a month, quote only, demo only evaluation.
BrightLocal is 39 dollars a month with a 14 day trial and no card, and strong independent ratings across three platforms. Important caveat for this page specifically: review generation sits on the top tier, so the entry plan does not do this job.
You are running this for clients
Vendasta is the full white label stack from 99 dollars a month, rated about 9.3 on G2 for white label features. Complex, with real onboarding time and per-seat fees of 30 to 65 dollars stacking on the base.
GoHighLevel is 97 dollars a month and folds review generation into CRM, funnels and marketing automation, which is worth it only if you want all of that. Usage charges for email, SMS, phone and AI bill on top, the learning curve is steep, and email deliverability needs manual SPF and DKIM setup.

Three things that matter more than the tool
Ask at the right moment. Whatever you buy, set the trigger to completion of service, not to a weekly batch.
Reply to everything, including the good ones. Replies are read by the next customer, not by the reviewer, and a profile where the owner answers reads better than one where nobody does.
Never incentivize. Offering a discount for a review breaches platform policy and FTC guidance whether or not you specify a positive one, and it is the second most common way businesses get themselves penalized after gating.
Platform notes are in the blog. If you already have a review that breaches policy and want it gone, that is a different job and we will look at the link.
